Hi, I'm Julia Jacome

I’m a photographer and creative based in Scottsdale, Arizona, working across sports, branding, lifestyle, events, and content creation. Originally from Southern California, I moved to Arizona to pursue my master’s degree in Sports Law and Business at Arizona State University and somewhere along the way, Arizona became home.
My career has taken me from photographing athletes and game days to creating content for brands, businesses, and people who want to tell their story through imagery. I currently work as an MLB Live Content Creator and on the Arizona Cardinals’ photo team, while continuing to grow my own photography business and take on creative projects throughout Arizona and beyond.
If you’ve found your way here, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here!

A New Chapter, In More Ways Than One

For those who don’t know me yet, my career has been pretty deeply rooted in sports. I currently work as an MLB Live Content Creator and am also part of the Arizona Cardinals’ photo team, two opportunities that still feel a little surreal to say out loud. Sports photography has taken me to some incredible places, introduced me to so many people, and given me opportunities I genuinely dreamed about.
But sports has never been the only thing I love to photograph.
Along the way, I’ve always continued taking on lifestyle sessions, branding shoots, events, athlete content, and creative projects on the side. And over time, I’ve realized I want to make more room for those things, too.
That’s a big part of why I created this new version of my website.
And if I’m being honest, it will probably never be completely finished.
I’m always finding something I want to change, update, rearrange, or make just a little bit better. But this version feels like an important one to share because it represents where I am right now, not just as a photographer, but as a creative.

Making More Room for the Work I Love

After leaving my traditional 8–5 job, I knew I wanted something different.
I wanted more room to create. More opportunities to connect with people. More flexibility to say yes to projects that excited me. And, maybe most importantly, more time doing the kind of work that makes me want to keep learning and getting better.
Photography has always been about more than taking a good photo for me. It’s about people, stories, ideas, and the little details that make something feel personal.
I love the energy of a game day and the challenge of capturing a moment that only exists for a second. But I also love slowing things down. Getting to know someone, understanding their vision, helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and creating images that actually feel like them.
I want to work with athletes building their personal brands. Brands creating something new. Small businesses that need someone to bring their vision to life. People celebrating milestones. Events that deserve to be remembered. And anyone who has a story, a project, or an idea that could use a little more visual storytelling.
I also want to keep growing within sports and continue finding ways to bring my creative perspective into that world.
There are a lot of different sides to what I do, and for a while I felt like I needed to put everything into one neat category.
I’m realizing I don’t.

So, What Is This?

This is my little corner of the internet to share all of it.
The work I’m creating. The projects I’m excited about. Behind the scenes. Things I’m learning. Experiences from working in sports. Photography and creative thoughts. Maybe a few things that have nothing to do with any of those things.
I want this to be a place where I can show more than the final image.
Because there is so much that happens before you see a photo in a portfolio, the planning, the location scouting, the conversations, the weird lighting situations, the last-minute changes, the ideas that work, and the ones that absolutely do not.
I think those parts are worth sharing, too.
And selfishly, I think having a place to document this season of my career will be pretty cool to look back on someday.

I’m Still Figuring It Out

This is my first blog post, so I’ll be honest: I have absolutely no idea what the cadence of this will look like yet.
Maybe I’ll post every week. Maybe it’ll be twice a month. Maybe I’ll disappear for a month because I’m busy shooting and then come back with way too much to say.
I’m not going to put too much pressure on it.
I just know that I want to share more.
This website will probably continue to evolve, too. I’ll find something I want to change next week, see a better way to organize something, or decide I need to rewrite an entire page at midnight.
That’s part of the process.
I’m building this as I go, just like I’ve built my career.
So, if you’re here, thank you for being here.
Whether you found me through sports, photography, a past project, social media, a recommendation, or you just happened to stumble across this site, I’m glad you did.
There’s a lot I’m excited about right now, and I’m excited to have a place to share more of it.
Here’s to the next chapter, and everything I’m still figuring out along the way.
